| Bio: | It's a lifestyle... Most people wouldn't understand, because they just don't get what it's all about. We do. We're the ones that choose using our money for that extra 10 horse instead of buying food for a week. We're the ones that can tell what kind of engine, the valve-train setup, the car, and how the person is driving it just by listening to the sound of it. We know where exactly the shift points are in our car. We know that toe is more than just a body part. Getting 'blown' or 'laid' isn't a sexual reference. We all know that vinyl adds horsepower, and neon adds torque. "Turbo" is more than just a cool word. You know you're a true racer at heart when burning tires smell better than your girlfriend's perfume. For the ATV and dirt bikers, a 4-stroke is a disgrace. Not only is getting sideways fun, but it's become a sport for you. Drifting is considered a weekend activity, not just floating between lanes. Intercoolers are more to us than little shiny radiators, and feel that it's essential in your life. Chrome is something you never have, except for show cars. You know you're bad when you rip out your spare tire, A/C, power steering, back seats, and stereo to gain extra power and lose extra weight. Being "juiced" doesn't mean steroids. "NOS" is a company name to you, not a performance part. You know that N2O and NO2 are two completely different things, and that alcohol is more than something to get drunk off of. Aluminum rims aren't meant for trucks, just as a trailer hitch on a car isn't either. Getting jacked can be a good thing. For some of us, tires thinner than our belt sizes are a disgrace. If you don't grow past 6 inches, you aren't a man. Anything bigger than 18” rims has no practical use, except for a way to impress rappers and idiotic white boys. For some of us, injected cars are too much wiring to deal with. We understand that forced induction is a good thing. A blow-off valve is more to us than just a thing to giggle at. We know that carbs are more than something you eat. You actually know the difference between F/F, F/R, M/R, and R/R. On engine codes, you understand what the letters T, TT, SC, or N/A stand for, as well as what 10.5:1 means. You know that bigger turbo’s doesn't always mean more power, and understand the higher the compression, the less boost you can have. We use side streets for rally racing. Having a V-8 import is an oxymoron to us. 4-cylinder cars are used for more than just saving gas. You know 4 speeds are for trucks and muscle cars. You can tell (and know) the difference between AWD and 4WD. Having hydraulics usually means your Mexican and stupid, while having bags usually means your white and stupid. Having brakes bigger than your friends tires is not only a good thing, it's suggested. We have problems keeping anything stock, as winter beaters get modded, as well as the family car. Especially if it's a lease. You know pump gas sucks. The phrase "a buck-30" means something more to you than "a dollar 30", and is a little more than cruising for you. This is our life, this is how we're living it. If you don't get it, then that's because you aren't one of those people with 103 pumping through your veins... |
